Adra
The costal village of Guainos Bajos
, which is a close knit community of 200 Spaniards
and is only 3km staight along the costal road from
the centre of Adra Town , an authentic Spain working
town and a lively port in existence from Phonecian
times. Nowadays the population of Adra is some 22,000
who mainly work in Agriculture and now tourism .
Adra
sports two long sweeping beaches, to either side of
the Adra Marina and fishing port, where there is a
1km promenade , a newly built municipal swimming pool
and many tapas bars and restaurants , supermarkets
banks etc. Guainos Bajos is a quiet backwater , Spain's
best kept secret! Life still revolves around the village
shop , church and family life and ancient traditions.
Guainos Bajos is situated between the motorway and
the sea here there is real tranquility .
From the terrace
of Casa Soly Mar you can hear the waves lapping on
the shore below and the birds singing . Granada and
the Sierra Nevada, Almerimar ,Roquetas , Almeria City,
Guadix, Mini Hollywood, are all within easy reach.
There is also a modern American style shopping centre/leisure
complex 14km away at El Ejido.
